九龙坡区积极创建市级环境保护模范城区，启动建设国家级山水园林城区，大力实施蓝天、碧水、绿地和宁静“四大”生态环保行动，努力将九龙坡建设成为更适合人居住、更适合人发展的地区。

　　2005年，九龙坡区全年空气质量达到或好于II级（优良）的天数占全年比例为68.5%，工业废水排放达标率为88.37%，工业固体废物综合利用率99.02%，工业烟尘排放达标率99.63%，全区区域环境噪声平均值55.1分贝（国家标准60分贝），交通干线噪声平均值66.7分贝（国家标准70分贝），城市建成区绿化覆盖率34.0%，人均公园绿地面积7.67平方米。

In 2005, the days of air quality in Jiulongpo at or better than class II accounted for 68.5% of the year, the rate of waste water up to standards was 88.37%, the comprehensive utility ratio of industrial solid waste was 99.02%, the rate of soot discharge up to standards was 99.63%, the average value of the regional environmental noise was 55.1 decibels (national standard is 60 decibels) in the whole district, the average value of traffic main line noise was 66.7 decibels (national standard is 70 decibels), the green coverage ratio of the city built area was 34.0%, and the area of park green land per capita was 7.67 square meters.
